Joe Biden

Blog 3
Joe Biden is as active on social media as his age. All joking aside, I’m a big fan of Joe Biden to let that be known. Personally, I think with age not on his side, the recent passing of his son Beau, and a long run as VP, that Joe will not to commit to a 2016 presidential campaign. Otherwise speaking, if Joe Biden decides to run hell be a really qualified candidate. Joe Biden as I researched, has been super low key on Facebook and on Twitter that usually gets updated monthly – by him…? I doubt it. Although, Joe Biden has not found outlets through those in particular, he has found some spotlight via Instagram, where he uploads numerous pictures of public speeches, gatherings, and such. He has a good following/followers ratio, which is HUGE these days. Joe Biden also has a bio page on whitehouse.gov and many others websites. Joe Biden as you can see is old fashioned so having him pop up on viral videos is slim to none. With that being said, hopefully to his knowledge Joe Biden is a hit when it comes to funny memes or awkward moments pertaining to him.
For the 2016 campaign, Joe Biden should try and connect with the younger generation. He has a good reputation and credibility with the older the generation, which goes to show his success and his current position as VP. As we know it, our generation holds the key for political success, which drive each candidate to be more intuitive with connecting with us. For Joe Biden to be more relevant on social media he could do a number of things. One, he could enhance is presence through Snapchat. Snapchat is one of my favorites because it incorporates live quick footage that allows myself and I bet many others to see what’s going on and getting right to the point. Some ideas for this could be, segments in the oval office, questions and answers about issues or upcoming events for his campaign, and in doing so, will connect, and draw followers that way. It goes a long way for none supporters and those who are on the fence. Another outlet I purpose Joe Biden to have is Facebook. It’s so standard yet allows some much views, repost, and comments back that Joe Biden can use to better his campaign. Weather this is positive or negative replies it viable to get that information and responses back and use it to his benefit. If Joe Biden and his staff can create some continuity amongst the young people and his campaign along with his experience, it could really jump him in the polls.

Lastly, if and when Joe Biden decides to run, he should first get going fast. With his focus on concluding strong in the white house, hell have to really multi-task and be creative and sturdy in his approach. He should encourage his own website along side other media outlets as I mentioned. This is where Joe Biden can keep his voters and voters o nt he fence with all his interaction during his run for presidency. This will allow a clean organized approach that will accommodate the younger generation as well as the old. As a millennial, having a social media presence is important, and candidates trying to connect and build trust with us should consider it being a useful too -- as it wasn’t before.

  1. What do you think Joe Biden can do to increase his likeabilty with the younger population? Do the professionals in the campaign need to do more to help this cause?
